2. Information we collect
Account information
We may store your name, email address, mobile number, postal address, password in hashed form, profile image and account preferences.
Drone and identification data
We store details you add about your aircraft, including the drone model, Drone Finder unique ID, Flyer ID, Operator ID, relevant expiry dates, lost status and last-known location.
Lost and found reports
If a finder reports a lost drone, we may collect their name, email address and phone number. These details are stored against the matching aircraft so the registered owner can arrange recovery. Finder contact details are not intended to be displayed on the public lost-drone page.
Membership and payment data
Membership records may include the plan selected, PayPal subscription identifier, status and billing dates. Payment-card details are handled by PayPal and are not stored by Drone Finder.
Flight logbook data
The flight logbook can contain dates, locations, duration, drone used, battery level, weather, visibility, purpose, rating, notes and documents you choose to upload.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure accounts, create and manage drone records, operate lost-and-found recovery, notify owners about recovery or support activity, maintain membership access, provide the flight logbook and exports, answer support messages, and operate and improve the service.
4. Legal basis
Depending on the activity, processing may be necessary to provide the service you requested, based on legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, required by law, or based on consent where consent is required.
5. Sharing
Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the website, hosting, email and payments. We may also disclose information where legally required. Finder contact details are made available to the registered owner of the matching lost drone for recovery purposes.
6. Location information
If you choose “Use my location” when marking a drone lost, your browser may provide coordinates after you grant permission. The saved coordinates are associated with the lost-drone record and may be represented as an approximate last-known location on the public recovery map when the listing is published.
7. Security and retention
We use access controls, password hashing and other reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. Information is retained for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal or operational requirements, resolve disputes and maintain appropriate records.
8. Your rights
Depending on applicable data-protection law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of personal information. Contact us if you want to exercise a right or ask how information is being used.
9. Cookies and third-party services
We use essential session storage needed for account and admin sign-in. Third-party services such as PayPal and map tiles may be loaded when you use the relevant features. See the Cookie Policy for more information.
